STRAIGHT ANSWERS
Questions we actually get asked
Answered the way they get answered on the phone.
PRICES AND HOW YOU CHARGE
Why do you publish prices when nobody else does?
Because the category is defined by a $19 advert that becomes $300 at the door. The only honest way to compete with a number that was never real is to print ones that are. Every figure is on the pricing page.
What is the service call, and is it on top?
$19, or $49 between 8pm and 7am, at weekends and on holidays. It is stated separately rather than folded into the job price, and it is credited against the work if you go ahead.
Will the price change once you are here?
On the large majority of jobs, no — we land inside the published range. Where something on site changes it, you hear the number before any tool comes out, and you can decline and pay only the service call.
Why is it more expensive in my city?
By a few dollars, and only for drive time. Labour and parts are priced identically across the metroplex. Each city page shows its own figure.
GETTING SOMEONE OUT
How fast can you really get here?
As fast as 15 minutes in the core of the metroplex, 35 to 60 on the outer ring. You are told which applies to your street before dispatch, not after.
Are you open at 3am?
The line is answered around the clock, every day. The after-hours service call is $49 rather than $19; the job prices themselves do not change at night.
Should I call or fill in a form?
Call, if it is happening now. A call gets a technician moving while we are still talking. Forms are for work that can be booked.
Can I book for a specific day?
Yes, for anything not urgent — rekeys after a move, lock upgrades, master key systems, fleet work. Use the booking page.
PROOF, LICENCES AND WHAT WE WILL NOT DO
Why do you need my ID?
Because a locksmith who opens a door without checking would do it for whoever asks next. Photo ID plus something linking you to the address or the vehicle. If you genuinely cannot, say so on the phone rather than at the door — there are usually other ways to establish it.
Are you licensed?
Yes, through the Texas DPS Private Security Bureau, including the Class B security contractor licence that access control, cameras and gates require. Licence #B30844001. Ask anyone else quoting you the same job for theirs.
Will you change the locks on my tenant?
Not while they are in possession, without documentation that the tenancy has legally ended. With a court order it is a same-day job. Without one, no locksmith should — and one who would is a liability you would be hiring.
Can you open my USPS cluster mailbox?
No. That unit is federal property regardless of who lives at the address. Your local post office handles it, with ID, usually for less than a call-out.
SAFES
Do you sell safes?
No. We open them, change combinations, move them and repair their locks. If you are buying one we will tell you what to look for, and where, without taking a cut.
Can you open a safe without damaging it?
Often, yes — manipulation and scoping open a good proportion with no damage. Where drilling is needed you hear where, why and what the repair costs first, and the safe is repaired afterwards rather than left open.
I have forgotten the combination.
Routine. Bring proof of ownership and the serial number if you have it. The important thing is to stop trying — repeated attempts add penalty delay and can trip a relocker, which is the single biggest cost multiplier there is.
CARS
Can you make a key with no key at all?
For the large majority of vehicles, from the VIN with proof of ownership. A small number of recent models need a dealer security link — we check that from your VIN before dispatching rather than after.
Do I need to tow it anywhere?
No. Cutting and programming happen at the vehicle, wherever it is parked.
My fob stopped working.
Nine times out of ten that is a coin-cell battery, which is a two-dollar part and not a call-out. Test your spare first: if the spare works, it is the fob; if neither does, it is the car.

A question that is not here?
Ring it through. The dispatcher answers these all day, and if the honest answer is that you do not need us, that is the answer you get.
